I think M$ bank around $1bn a year just from XBL gold subscriptions. That doesn't include DLC,Arcade games etc...
M$ have probably made more money than Nintendo's Wii have for them this gen when you factor in the LIVE pricing...
I think Sony could release a REAL slimline console with a price cut and really clean up. Now, if M$ cut big, £99 for a core 360 with Kinect - that could really hurt the WiiU...
Why would they make a new engine this late in the day? Better to launch a new COD on a new gen system with a new engine then, no?
Why did the Gamecube fail?
It had a Mario game (which was crap) it had no Zelda, and all the third party developers abandoned it. (as they do all nintendo consoles because only Nintendo IP sells)
What was different about the Wii?
It had multiple good Mario games, it had 2 Zelda's and it had a gimmick and a ton of shovelware from third party developers.
Good Nintendo IP will guarantee around 30 million WiiU consoles to the fanboys...
I heard a while back that their next BIA game would be less mature and more arcadey. I hope this isn't the case. I really enjoyed their last game on 360, and while less than perfect, it had a really great cover system and felt really authentic.

When I buy a new car, I don't want a joystick instead of a steering wheel. I don't want buttons instead of gears. The controls are not important so long as they work well.
For me, it's the same with consoles. I'm more interested in the consoles capabilities and games than I an in it's controls. That's why I wasn't interested in the Wii and I'm not interested in the Wii U.

When I buy a car I like to know the horsepower. When I buy a house I like to know how many rooms it has. As gamers we have a right to know how powerful our PC's and consoles are before we buy them.
Nintendo clearly have much to hide. Otherwise, why not come out and tell people the good news?

Nintendo has lost the casuals and hardcore this gen with the Wii. They will have to work hard to claw back the hardcore, and hope the tablet pad is gimmicky enough to draw back the stupid casuals.
M$ has alienated the hardcore with their 180 turn to Kinect and shovelware. Even if their new console is powerful, how do they convince people that they won't abandon them again in a few years time in thei...
